Depends what you want from a captain.
Sure, Dombrandt isn't all fire and brimstone under the posts but
he does lead by example. He is a standout performer for Quins
and we don't have many who show his level of consistency
week-in, week-out. I also think he's tactically smart and makes
the right onfield decisions, and he seems to have a decent
rapport with refs.
The argies are generally a fiery bunch, so maybe Petti can fire
up the troops.

I think we'll see plenty of CCS this season given Chis is a
long-term absentee. And I wouldn't be surprised if we see him in
the second row quite often, given Lewies can't be relied upon to
stay fit, Launchbury's form and fitness being questionable and
Green not looking physically ready for Prem rugby.
That said I want to see big improvement from CCS. He's an
absolute wrecking ball when he's on it, but he needs to look
after the ball better in contact and work on his offloading
game. He's got a high ceiling but he's someway off fulfilling
it.
Everyone knows my views on the tight-five last season, who were
collectively abysmal with the exceptions of Baxter and Herbst.
If we show significant improvement here then I hold out hope
we'll be more competitive then is being predicted. A lot depends
on how our new tightheads perform.
Agree with the general comments that we need our squad players
to step up when internationals are unavailable. It's during
these periods that injuries to the likes of Lewies and Chis
really bite.

The sort of predictions we are seeing are somewhat
representative of a real lack of feel good coming out of the
place at the moment. A proper performance against Bath on Friday
would change the atmosphere somewhat to avoid the general grumpy
feeling permeating the whole start of the season.

It would be nice if we weren't taking on Bath though.
Most pundits think they will finish top of the league.
The current betting odds and fans predictions on SuperBru
suggests an easy win for them.
Would a good result be to score two tries ourself and limit Bath
to 50 points?

I may look foolish saying this but I don't think Bath will score
50 against you
