On 28 March, while we play Bristol at Cardiff, Gloucester v
Leicester has been moved to Villa Park and Saracens v
Northampton to Tottenham Hotspur.

We have created a monster, The big stoop is just across the
road, not like some of these venues which are not exactly
walking distance.

Is that relevant, though? Do most fans walk to their home
ground? I love that Quins have the Big Stoop just over the road,
but as far as I know that's almost a unique situation in any
sport. I think only Leinster, Edinburgh and Cardiff Blues are
comparable.

I think that distances of 40 miles will make a difference to
supporters, and no people don’t walk to games, if that was the
case I would become a trailfinders fan as it would take 3
minutes to walk there.
Spurs stadium for Saracens makes sense as the distance is
reasonable, but for week in week out supporters, long distances
are a bit unfair, ours at the big stoop still seem like home
games will Cardiff and Villa park seem like home games.
In the end up to the teams, where they play, but does it make a
much sense as our games not to me, which was all I was pointing
out.
Cardiff like most of the Welsh regions would probably just need
a phone box.

There’s no doubt that for Quins the Big Game is very profitable,
and in a sport which currently across the board is loss making
any way to increase income is positive. Other clubs have
obviously looked at the success of the Big Game, and to a lesser
extent the BSKO and see that as a way to emulate. We’re very
lucky the Big Stoop is literally across the road while others
don’t have that opportunity and have to find a larger venue that
is further away.
We’ve been the pioneers, it’s no surprise others have followed.

To be fair I think the LDH was the pioneer.

And then Stade taking a game to Stade de France - but Quins are
the team who have really made the concept work and got the
marketing and razzmatazz right

Never been a fan of games at the 'BIG STOOP'.
Although I do remember when we used to play some of the welsh
teams etc there during the 70s & 80s.....
