While matches have mostly been one-sided, they've still been
more entertaining than many of the matches in the men's world
cup. It's the enthusiasm of these minnows, most of whom are
amateur, coming up against top teams and loving every moment of
it. Yes, they can't win and will lose by a lot, but the delight
at even scoring a penalty is infectious and great for them.

COS used to say that the coaching message to the players was
"win every minute" - knowing that you can't win them all, but if
you win enough, you win the game.
The lower ranked teams aren't able to win enough minutes to win
the game - but for them, every minute they can win against a
bigger team is a victory in itself.

Breach has played all games and has seen a lot of the ball with
play overwhelmingly towards her. Whereas neither
Moloney-MacDonald nor Dow have been as involved. But whether
this is a deliberate ploy or a result of the opposition focusing
on Breach as a perceived weakness I don't know?

Kildunne likes to attack down that channel and her and Breach
understand each others play, so a lot of kick returns and turn
over ball goes down that channel.
The Breach can't tackle story is not supported by any of the
stats, the tackles she does miss are mostly when she has used
her pace to get back and try to make a last ditch tackle, as
happened against the USA when Meg Jones missed the lock and
Breach covered back but got handed off.
If Rowland plays more will go to Dows wing.

Breach has made 9 tackles so far in the tournament with a
completion rate of 69%. For comparison, Woodman-Wickliffe has
       made 8 at 67%.
Portia is comfortably ahead on every attacking stat, mind.
Except line breaks (Breach 10, WW 4) and Tries (6, 2). But who
       cares about those?

That scoring tries business is very overrated.

Strong team from England (do they have anything else?)
       Rowland
       Dow
       Jones
       Heard
       Breach
       Aitchison
       Hunt
       Clifford
       Cokayne
       Muir
       Talling
       Galligan
       Aldcroft
       Kabeya
       Matthews
       Atkin-Davies
       Carson
       Bern
       Ward
       Feunati
       Packer
       Harrison
       Sing
Abbie Ward on the bench feels big but that is some 16-20
       🤯

Good side, even without Botterman and Kildunne. The bench has
clearly been picked to steamroller the Scots if they get too
uppity, but I hope it doesn't come to that.

I'm hoping Our 'Ollie will unleash the backline more than Zoe
has but good to have her on the bench if we do need to tighten
       up a bit.
As an aside, P4, you'll probably know more than me but has
anyone else started 3 different 10s this comp?

As far as I can tell, no-one else has. And certainly I don't
think any other team has had all three of their recognised fly
halves on the pitch at the same time.

Disappointing that the French tried to eat our new Irish
       signing.
