Team News: Evans captains extended squad against Benetton
Harlequins have named an extended squad to take on Benetton in
their second pre-season fixture at The Stoop (Saturday 06
September, KO 15:00).
The Quarters welcome United Rugby Championship opposition to TW2
as preparations for 2025/26 continue. Danny Wilson has named a
side with a blend of youth and experience, including the return
of several senior players.
Pedro Delagado will make his first appearance in the Quarters
following his arrival at the Club in August. Fellow new signing,
Kieran Treadwell packs down in the second row with Jonny Green.
Quins are boosted by the return of Jack Kenningham and Will
Evans at blindside and openside respectively. Evans skippers the
side on Saturday afternoon as Quins run out at The Stoop for the
first time since mid-May.
Lucas Schmid slots into the Number 8 role, while Will Porter
returns to start at scrum-half and Connor Slevin is named at
fly-half. Elsewhere in the backline, Tyrone Green will wear the
number 15 jersey.
Wilson has named an extended bench of 13 players to face the
Leoni, which is split into eight forwards and five backs.

I'm looking forward to seeing Lucas Schmid again.
He was dual reg at Richmond for the last few years and was
player of the match a few times - which isn't bad for a 20 year
old.

This could be his year to break through, for all that it's a
very stacked back row player pool

Interesting Hyde overlooked to start again.
Not 100% its wise resting a few first teamers. I hope they get
sufficient time as we will be heavily reliant on the likes of
Jarrod Evans, Turner/Walker etc

For those of us who do not want to watch on TikTok or the "App",
the game IS available to watch on YouTube, however the club are
keeping them "Unlisted" to push people towards TikTok instead
(ugly behaviour if you ask me). You can find the URL to the
YouTube video in the App and open it on whichever device you
want

Yes, he's looked good when I've seen him play, especially for
his age. Zach Carr is also very promising, and Ludo Kolade too.
Let's see how they fare against what should be some serious
opposition.

Very curious. I count up to only 9 players who could be
considered first-choice for a matchday 23. When will the rest of
the team get some preseason match practice? In the Prem cup
matches? Is Wilson seeing those matches as part of pre-season?
