The only real concern is the lack of a real replacement 10, due
to injuries to Holly Aitchison and Helena Rowland.
Which leaves Meg Jones as our cover at 10 if Zoe Harrison goes
off.
Also Claudia Moloney McDonald who has not played in the warm ups
and is likely first choice on the wing and also our 3rd number
9.

7/10 quality performance by England ... they'll get much better.
BBC sound quality appalling & amateurish.

England played well, particularly in the second half, nice
performance from the backs and forwards.

Perhaps we can now move on from the Ilona Maher hype and
concentrate on the really outstanding international women rugby
players in this tournament

I don't know which company is providing the Outside Broadcast
facilities, but having worked in OB Sound for many years, most
of my former colleagues who are still in the business seem to be
working on the expanded Sky football coverage, probably because
it is more matches and income.

Re Iiona Maher - I know it’s a limited sample - but three of my
female colleagues are watching the games for the first time
because she is pushing the game.
If only a small portion start watching because of her then it’s
a good thing! Having said that the Roses are great to watch!

She seems to get extreme reactions, when she is a decent player
but played in a position at international level she struggles
with due to having mostly played sevens.
Social media tends to build people up to tear them down, and she
is loading some of the bullets being used against her, but much
of what is now being said about her is cruel and unfair.
And if you look at comments made around females in sport in
general , it is a sad reflection on certain parts of society.

I agree with you - I admire the increased profile she's brought
to the women's game and (as a father of a daughter) her positive
championing of a different athletic body image. I'm just a bit
put off by her endless self-promotion when part of a team sport
- one that she's recently suggested she may not be committed to
for much longer. I just hope that if she does decide to pursue
other interests outside rugby, that the new supporters she's
attracted to the game continue to maintain their interest
