They could have shuffled the backs around, as Willemse, and
arguably Andre, could cover 10. Kwagga could slot in at centre.
They have players who can fill several positions, and usually
they have all bases covered.
Sacha is definitely next in line, but injuries have held him
back. There are others waiting in the ranks too, and they are
being involved in training camps at the right time, which is
now. I honestly don't know who will be the starting 10 for the
next RWC, although at the moment I'd hedge my bets on Sacha.

I was expecting Willemse to replace him, was surprised when he
came on at fullback, just odd not to have a replacement 10 on
the bench if you don’t have more than one player in the starting
15 who can cover fly half.
Especially when Libbock is so flaky, if you are not doing a 7/1
split, I would be a coward and have a replacement 9 and 10.

I think Rassie made a rare mistake and underestimated the
Wallabies, especially after the first half. It was the true
definition of a game of two halves, or both sides.

I witnessed the "line-out" pass in the midfield and I'm still
not sure what it achieved?

Agreed. It's an odd one, as all it seems to do is disrupt the
flow, slow things down, and ensure continuation of possession
which should be ensured anyway. All at the expense of conceding
a penalty.

Libbok was worse in the 2nd half than the first. SA's biggest
problem in the first half outside of the lineout was at 15. Made
total sense that Willemse came on there.
