Farrell was always going to get selected over Smith once he'd
played a game. Media and pundits were desperate for it as it
gives them an easy write up. Rewarded for barely beating an
invitational team on Tuesday. Lowe seemingly unstoppable. No
doubt another of these test match animals

I can live with all the selections except Golden Boy. I don’t
agree with them but I can understand them. However selecting
Owen Farrell is just silly. Hasn’t played any international
rugby for years. Hasn’t played any rugby for months until
Tuesday. Did nothing special in that one game anyway. Said he
couldn’t tour with England as he wanted to spend time with the
family and then… Will probably come on to the pitch and kick a
winning penalty at the weekend and the love-in will begin.

Farrell has been good at 12 on tour, albeit at the expense of
both 10s he's played with and I question whether he could work
alongside Russell if required. He's not played a minute of 10 so
it's a brave call to have him cover that position. It also
forces Leinster, sorry, the Lions into a 5-3 bench.
Marcus not being allowed to start a single match in Australia
was always going to hurt him.

I imagine the head bump on Tuesday probably played a part in
MS’s non selection. But then surely F Smith gets that slot… Or
not. Leadership, blah blah blah. Farrell gets a lot of
unjustified unpleasant stuff (as does MS) but some of the
widespread eulogising is massively over the top and grating.
Surprised at Genge dropping to the bench, Kelleher is a lucky
boy. Lowe probably is as well.

Biggest travesty of a selection isn't even fareell for me.
Its ryan over cummings. Cummings probably been the form lock all
tour alongside mccarthy. Ryan has done absolutely nothing, same
as hes done nothing for ireland for several years now. Cummings
can feel very very hard done by

Apparently he was going to pick Ringrose over Huw Jones, too.
       Madness.
Australia are rubbish so none of this matters but the concept of
form on tour going a long way to determine selection for the
Tests has been trashed. It worked in the first test but I
struggle to see how the form back row would've failed. The best
8 on tour isn't even on the bench, Ryan is a joke selection,
Furlong is the 3rd best TH, Lowe extremely poor so far, Keenan
has had high profile shockers that certain other players
would've been absolutely destroyed for, etc

And people laugh at me when I say the head coach shouldn't be
someone who is also head coach of a current team......🤣
Frustratingly, I actually understand the Farrell one, the one I
don't get is Keenan. Tuipolotu has a tight hamstring and
Ringrose concussed still. If Jones goes down, you can move Aki
to 13. If Russell goes down, you can put Faz Jnr to 10 and
Kinghorn covers Keenan and wing. It should have been Kinghorn
starting and Marcus at 23. And don't get me started on Ryan or
       Lowe!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really losing interest in this tour.... Rubbish opposition,
not great play by the lions, odd selections, mostly of out of
form Irish players, and a coach who seemingly aches to give his
son a shot that he hasn't earned.
