This result tonight , for Womens and Girls sport is a wonderfull
outcome. I don't care it's the roundball sport. These Women have
shown more grit, determination and " never say die" than their
male counterparts have for a long time.
Their post match interview elloquence puts their male
       counterparts to shame.
The outcome will be, all the girls want to play sport, and with
the WRWC coming up it'll also look really good for Rugby.
Rant over, and thankyou for your indulgence on your board Quins.
My twatfest board will not be allowing such a platform.

They did very well to come back from a goal down, especially so
late in the game. Ageymang is a player who makes things happen
and I am very surprised that she only seems to be subbed on when
       it’s almost too late.
It’s also great to see a team that can perform consistently well
in tournaments… though I must admit that our family will be
hoping for an heroic near miss in the Final, to leave the Roses
with the chance to go one better.

Was a great match. Women's football i have found to be similar
in atmosphere to rugby as a whole. Also saw the Red Roses
watched and cheered on. Would be good to see both England squads
succeed this year, along with the Lions, England men's in the
cricket too. Will certainly make SPOTY interesting in December.

Strange you would want an England team to not win a tournament
so another can go one better! [emoji848]

Not strange at all. I want women's rugby to succeed more than I
want women's football to succeed, and if the Lionesses win the
trophy, it will overshadow RWC 25 in the media and public
       consciousness.
I'm not a soccer fan under most circumstances anyway.

One might suggest that to have lost to the 13th ranked Italians
would have been a capitulation for the 5th ranked English, and
that they should have swept them aside pretty easily, but they
certainly do appear to have a never say die attitude at the very
       least.

I find your sentiment quite bizarre.
You purport to be a massive supporter of W&G sport, yet blight
your observations with a quite juvenile quaification regarding a
       specific sport.
I'm a bit too long in the tooth to take your comment too
seriously. My aim is to get get as many girls involved in any
sport at any level. I spent a long time on Girls and Womens
Rugby pathway development from Somerset CB to Bristol Bears
       Womens.
I know of no Girl or Woman involved that might share your
thought process. Do you reflect a Quins thing? In my local pub
last night, most of my local Womens Rugby club (30+ women) were
cheering on the Lionesses. They weren't hoping for their
       failure.
Especially not in the final now.
       Strange perspective pourfour. Strange.

Why would it be a Quins thing? Completely odd observation.
For the record I completely disagree with Poorfour on that and
hope both women’s teams win their respective competitions.

I kind of get what PF is saying in a way. I have no love of
Soccer but always want England to do well. I also have two
daughters, so want there to be funding and pathways. The point
of the Red Roses being overshadowed if the Lionesses win is also
a frustration for me as Soccer is the dominant sport and an
England player farting in a pub would get more headlines than a
RWC win is quite galling. Still, we'll never change the Status
       Quo, whatever we want!!!
