England men’s head coach Steve Borthwick has named his team to
play the USA at Audi Field on Saturday 19th July (kick-off
10.05pm BST).
Six Harlequins feature in the matchday squad as Luke Northmore
retains his spot at outside centre and he's joined in the
backline by Cadan Murley on the left wing.
In the pack, Chandler Cunningham-South starts at blindside
flanker, while Alex Dombrandt lines up at the base of the scrum.
Fin Baxter is named among the replacements with Oscar Beard, who
is in-line to earn his first England cap from the bench.
This fixture marks the eighth meeting between England and the
USA, with England having won all previous encounters.
“We know the USA will present a tough challenge,” said
Borthwick.
“There’s been a great spirit in the squad throughout this tour.
The players have worked hard for each other and pushed standards
every day. Those selected this weekend have earned their chance
through their effort and attitude.
“We aim to keep building the squad, learn from every experience,
and deliver a performance that our supporters can be proud of.”
The match against the USA Eagles will be streamed live on
RugbyPassTV and England Rugby’s YouTube channel.

More excited by that England team than I've been for years.

On the non-Quins, I'm glad to see Ted Hill in there. That guy is
a great player, and he deserves more England chances.

Should be starting. Not sure what he's done.

Doesn’t Danny mention Hill as part of the Japan game fallout?
And who would you start him instead of? CCS is the most obvious
positionally

May not be popular view on this board but I would start Hill
over CCS. I think CCS has plenty of raw potential but it’s a
while since I saw have a standout performance. Hill has been a
machine this season.

CCS has a long way to go before he's starting international
class. He has terrible hands and has struggled to put together
more than a 40 minute performance. Excellent raw material of
course.
Ted Hill is a monster. Maybe you could say his number of
involvements aren't always what they should be, but he hits like
a truck, carries hard, is decent at the breakdown, is an
excellent lineout forward, and is fit enough and fast enough to
run down wingers at the end of a tough contest.

I'd have put ccs in the row and started hill over Coles.
Agreed with jammy, I'm not sure ccs is capable of much more than
a half in the premiership yet, let alone in a test match.

Dare I say it but i feel like CCS has stagnated a bit recently.
Can’t be easy being a young bloke thrown in to internationals
whilst not even first choice for his club - and now being
considered across both second and back row. I’d like to see him
churn out games in one or two spots for a good number of months
and let the international stuff come when he is ready.

Is Minty on the coaching team for the USA? I can't seem to find
anything on their coaches.
