We'll find out for sure tomorrow but that's what I expected for
Marcus.
Shame for Jac Morgan, don't think T Curry has been T Curry on
the tour yet, maybe the tests will be different. Hope it is
Huwipolotu in the midfield and Marcus gets a good amount of game
time. I imagine the Aussies will still be trying to work out how
he pulled them to pieces in the autumn.

Weird headline to take on it - Farrell misses out, which surely
isn't a surprise - as opposed to focussing on who is in.

The moment a head coach starts selecting only on reputation is a
slippery slope. Curry hasn't really shone in the games, where as
Morgan probably couldn't have done much more. Tom Curry always
seem to be a player that is selected regardless. England always
seemed to rush him back from injury and include him without
considering form. That's not me saying he obviously isn't world
class, but still...

I think it's been clear from Marcus's repeated selection on the
bench (I think there's only been one match since Argentina where
he wasn't in the squad at 22 or 23) that Farrell's plan from day
1 has been that he would play there.
As for Curry (and Beirne) I think they've been selected
specifically for the test being reffed by Ben O'Keeffe, who on
the evidence of the Western Force game is going to be really
tough on jackalling. Expect the Lions to counter-ruck rather
than pilfer. I would expect Morgan or VdF to be picked for the
2nd and 3rd tests.

Curry is a lineout option, which Morgan isn't. He also chases
kicks. Those may be part of the consideration.

Did anyone really think Farrell was going to play in this test?
After 20 minutes from the bench?
If Beirne really is in the starting 15, though, that's got to be
reputation only, because he's been shit on tour so far.

I thought that when the squad was announced. The problem for AF
has been Fin Smith's somewhat uninspiring displays leaves him
without a starting 10 if Finn Russell gets injured. That may
have prompted the call up for OF but if it did, Sexton would
have had a lot of say in it.

Telegraph has been the AF's pet paper, calling for Owen to be
called up for months. In return they get the leaked team news.
Expect calls for Owen to become more na more Shrill, even if
Marcus comes on at 10 after 20 minutes and scores a hattrick.

I had assumed that if Russell gets injured Marcus would take the
10 shirt (while covering 15) and Fin or OF would cover from the
bench.
