I think England and Saracen fans are looking for Dan to be that
Malcolm Marx/Ronan Kelleher type hooker who is great in broken
field. The problem with that is that if you don't do the basics
of being a hooker, that is less of an advantage

Dan has a knee injury so England have called up Oghre and
Blamire for the USA test.

Walker seems to have fallen way down the pecking order.

I don't think we will see him again. With the 2 latest call ups,
I think if there were any others the Bath pacific islander chap
who's name escapes me is probably in as a bolter. Dunn also
probably in the mix ahead of Walker as an emergency.

He never let anyone down. He is an all rounder - good
scrummager, good lineout, good defense, good around the park -
without necessarily being great at any of them. I'd rather have
him playing for us than sitting on the England bench.

I appreciate what Walker does for us but Langdon and Ohgre have
been outstanding for some time, LCD is a physical freak, George
world class at his best, Blamire has serious pace to go with his
size, etc etc. Walker doesn't have a point of difference and is
just a large and strong Steady Eddie who isn't always that
Steady.
No shame in that at club level.

We'll hopefully see Riley up his minutes this season and start
to give the coaches a selection headache

Absolutely. My comment was more about the fact that he picked up
a few caps a few years ago, and doesn't seem to have gone
backwards since then. Perhaps it's just that others have
improved, along with a few new names in the mix. I assume he
won't be adding to his caps.
