That's no joke of a team AusNZ are putting out there. Some
serious ballers. I can see an upset.

A number of commenters are saying that as this team will only
have been together a week, it'll be a BaaBaas style of game.

Extremely physical team though, that backline is huge and the
pack is monstrous.

Keep Marcus on the bench for this one please. I can see
injuries coming.

Other than Al Jam, that team looks like it is well suited to
creating anagrams

As AliG might say... What's the problem with my uncle Jamal?

Well, AUNZ were a crashing disappointment. No courage in attack
and no real bite in defence.
Elephant in the room mentioned first up: Farrell was excellent!
Came on with a raft of changes and produced a well rounded
display including not only an excellent carry but a good offload
at the end of it, only kicked badly once, and looked very
smooth. He shouldn't be on tour but if he's going to be I'd much
rather he played well.
However it did come at Marcus's expense, as Farrell ended up
getting a lot of ball directly from 9 particularly off the set
piece moves and Marcus ended up with far fewer touches as a
result. Unsurprisingly Marcus had little impact and so his last
chance to stake a claim as a 10 is gone. What a weird tour for
him.
Think what we learned from that match is that Beirne's failings
are still there, Ryan did nothing to suggest he could be a Test
option, Earl should be the Test 8, Ben White is a better bench
option than Mitchell, Fin was "off" again at 10 and will be
lucky to be the sub 10, the Scottish midfield are a superb unit
and should be picked en masse, DVDM is having a bit of a
nightmare, Keenan is fit again and Pollock will make a great
bench option.
What I think the Lions team should be for the first test in
numerical order:
Genge, Sheehan, Stuart, McCarthy, Itoje, Chessum, Morgan, Earl,
JGP (just), Russell, Lowe, Tuipulotu, Jones, Freeman, Keenan
Subs: Porter, Kelleher (LCD out), Bealham, Cummings, VDF,
Pollock, White, MSmith
But I suspect Farrell Sr will pick Van Der Flier and Aki and may
even go 5-3 to get Jr on the bench. Given with my preferred
lineup there's a risk if Sione gets broken I can see the need
for another midfielder and Aki would be my choice
