Exactly.
It's a shameful decision. He was rubbish for England in the pre
WC 6N, then got himself banned, then stank the place out at the
world cup, then retired, then had his worst season for a long
time with Saracens, then left to go to Racing where he had a
combination of injury problems, discipline issues, and dreadful
matches.
There are many more deserving players who should have been ahead
of him, but his dad's the coach and Wigglesworth is obviously a
huge fan as well. It's not like he's a Lions legend - his
performances on Lions tours have been mixed at best and he's
never been trusted to be the 10 either. But the myth making
demands that he be treated as a Colossus who can't possibly be
ignored.
Daft, daft decision, especially given how reasonable the
selection for the tour was and how fair they've been to players
on tour so far.

I don't think that's right. The try comes from a midfield break
that should never have been allowed to happen, but when
Argentina start running they have eight players to the right of
the ball, two more in line behind the ball carrier and only two
to the left. The Lions have 5 defenders able to cover the left,
two who can cover the right, a whole load in midfield who have
already been left behind and Marcus and Fin deep and covering
the right and left respectively.
Fin bites in on the 12 rather than holding back and trusting an
outside defender to tackle, which allows for the pass to get
away and the kick to be made. By that point, Marcus has come
across to midfield and has to chase the kick on the angle
against one of the fastest players on the pitch. Even then he
nearly makes it.

Gatland started the problems with the lions losing credibility
with some of his picks and now Farrell has further damaged it.
The lions is not meant to be a chance to the head coach to pick
their mates above more deserving candidates.

Hasn’t played for weeks. Hasn’t played internationally for two
years. If only there was some clue as to why Farrell has picked
Farrell…

But he can do the evil stare, and the village idiot look at the
referee.
But on a serious note, where could he play for the Lions, the
worry is that if FR has a bad match and the Lions lose a test,
that he starts a test at 10.

I don't think there's any point worrying about whether OF will
start a test, or even be on the bench for one, yet.
