If he is out the main concern is that of the 3 games played so
far, the two main remaining contenders for the FB shirt,
Kinghorn & Keenan have played a grand total of 0 minutes between
the pair of them, making it likely that Marcus will get roped in
to play there at least during the midweek games.

Not sure i like that idea. At least Marcus would get some game
time. Keenan apparently just had a tummy bug so should be fit?

Marcus has had a game at fullback in which he played a
significant role in every try the Lions scored, and 20 minutes
at 10 in which he created another. But for a lot of pundits and
fans none of that counts because he didn’t successfully defend a
2 on 1 or chase down a winger on the angle.
Right now, it seems to me that he’s copping a lot of flak for
the Lions as a whole failing to implement their defensive
system, and barely getting any credit for the good he’s done
(the commentators even credited Mitchell with reversing
direction for Daly’s try, which was clearly called by Marcus).
But on the other hand, right up until the squad announcement,
most pundits were expecting Farrell to take Prendergast. I hope
(and suspect) that Faz is seeing more of Marcus’s value as an
attacking force. There’s a good chance he’ll be given a start at
10 on Saturday (though that might now depend on Daly, Kinghorn
and Keenan’s status), and we all know he’s quite capable of
changing the narrative.

Sounds like Farrell is choosing to call up his son to replace
Daly. Extremely funny.

It makes sense as a like for like replacement. Covers wing and
full back as well as outside centre, great positioning and good
speed. Oh, hang on....

Funny as in ironic funny?
It's ridiculous, he's hardly played rugby in a year and the
right he did play wasn't up to much.... Waste of space on this
tour. If he was fit and in form with some recent game time that
would be a different matter.

The 2 on 1 criticism is definitely unfair. The misery of being
last line of defence and being the visible face of earlier
errors. However, I thought he was slow to react for the other
try and left himself too much to do.

Marcus at 15 for the Lions first test, only one set of fans
would be realistically happy with that and they will be wearing
gold. He might create a lot in attack, but the defensive side of
things will always be under the microscope. It's easy to say
this happened because this other player didn't do his bit, or
similar, but he in my view is only ever a stopgap at 15 not the
go to. He simply does not play enough there to have all the dark
arts of that position mastered, no matter how talented he is.
When he returns to us, hes back to 10 for the season. It puts
him in an unfair position and I'm keen to avoid the huge fall
out of one bad Lions performance (particularly if it cost the
game) could do to his confidence

That’s a handy £100k for Owen Farrell then, hope he remembered a
Father’s Day card
