Brand new half and half pitch being laid, no more 100% grass, as
that, apparently was why we weren’t playing expansive rugby last
season.

The pitch did need relaying. It was in a right mess last season

Still really a grass pitch, the artifical fibres allow the grass
roots to bind below the surface, so the pitch does not break up,
last season at the end looked like we were playing at a park.

That’s been the aspiration for years, but it was always
something the club couldn’t afford. Now I assume they’ve decided
that it will be cheaper in the long run than the cycle of
patching and relaying that we have today.
