Or he’s being kept fit for the Lions. His ban makes him
       available for the first test.
He hardly needs the time off of a pre-season.

What a slap in the face for every other winger in England: we'd
rather take a guy who isn't allowed to play than have you as a
back-up. F-W shouldn't have played in the last match at all. He
needs a proper pre-season and to get some top-level game time.
It doesn't matter how much raw talent he has. You need to build
       up to test rugby.

Pepper isn't even the first choice 7 at his club. Hrmpf.
Besides, Kenningham and Ted Hill should be the guys battling it
out for the 6 shirt at the moment. Isiekwe is a lucky boy.

It hardly justifies his inclusion though, its an England squad
not a "helps the lions if needed" squad. He will miss 2 tests
which both are the actual "serious" ones. This blocks a chance
for someone like Radwan or OHC, who have been in great form.
What good is he as a tackle bag holder? He can still train with
England presumably without being named in the squad if its that
       important.

It is bizarre as I'm not aware there is a restriction on touring
party size, so he could have taken a Radwan and still had IFW
there. What it does show is that regardless, he's in the England
team when available, form won't be a problem he needs to worry
about. Will he be the next Cohen or the next Cokanasiga???

Not taking Kenningham given his form (in a poor team) makes no
sense to me whatsoever. Especially given some of the flankers
Borthwick has picked. IFW going for the ride undermines the
England team in my opinion. I can’t believe that won’t have a
negative impact across the wider squad.

Jack Nowell was another one who seemed to always get picked
regardless of form. 14 tries in 46 games for a winger probably
isn't a great return in an England shirt. Of which 11 tries were
scored between 2013 and 2017. His last 13 games in an England
shirt he scored 1 try, with most people confused how he kept
being selected despite no form. I think for what its worth
though that IFW will far surpass his record

The next Manu. Although fitness didn't seem to be a huge concern
       for Manu being picked.

England head coach Steve Borthwick says suspended wing Immanuel
Feyi-Waboso is too good a player to leave out of his summer
plans, despite being unable to play in the two-Test series
       against Argentina.

Surely he won't pick muir AND Roebuck in the same side...
