It would be really nice if Marcus could get to play at 10 in
internationals. He's a decent 15, but he's a much better 10.
Versatility is not always a player's friend.

It is a huge part of what has got him on tour, and starting
against Argentina though.
100% a better 10, but also better to play than not

I hope we will see him given a chance at 10 once the full squad
is on tour - but it's also easy to see why coaches want him at
15, because defences can't ignore him. He pulls them out of
shape just with the threat of what he can do, without even
touching the ball. To some extent, his value as a kind of super
dummy runner is eclipsing his value as a playmaker.

I agree with wanting to see him at 10, but the lions have
usually had to have “versatility” in the squad. Remember 1997,
Townsend at 10 , Jenkins at 15, why? Jenkins for his kicking.
Was he better in defence than Marcus? (Genuine question as I was
normally too pi$$ed during the games to remember).

Jenkins' goal kicking was superlative on that tour if I remember
correctly - well worth his place.
