I’ve always had the impression that OF would turn a fun activity
into just an activity. He’s had an unfortunate year in France
and who knows, him and his family may not have liked Paris and
been homesick. Salarycens might have been the only club to offer
him anything. Only hope he doesn’t get back in the England
squad.

Joe Gray got another Prem winner’s medal by going back
As did Ford and Burns at Leicester.

Not making anything up, Sir, just asking the questions which
need to be asked. I work in a lot of team environments and have
seen the disruption caused by a larger than life presence coming
back into a team that is trying to move on from previous
iterations and am sure that happens in Rugby as much as any team
sport.
I know it looks like I'm saying it was a toxic environment, for
which I have no evidence, but as much as players laud him for
his effort in driving them on you'll never get over him not
being around if you keep bringing him back. It could be a
success for them, in the short term but long term more
detrimental.
And there is no way I can believe that the ego's in that squad
like being challenged.

Does anyone know how the salary cap works for "player-coaches"?
Coaches' salaries fall outside the cap so they can be paid as
much as a club can afford. If Bath (widely assumed to be the
wealthiest club in the country) wanted to have Rassie Erasmus as
their DOR they can pay him £10m a season and no one can quibble.
But obvs players salaries ARE capped.
So what is stopping Saracens paying Faz Jnr a pittance as a
player but a huge "coaching" salary and thus circumventing the
cap rules? Or any other club doing the same frankly?

It was a quick search but the Salary Cap rules state that:

Salary:

legal, medical, marketing or promotional work.

Whilst coaching isn't highlighted, I can see how the SCD might
suggest that it was "another paid role".

I'm sure I've read somewhere that a player/coach's salary all
counts under the cap, regardless of the split between
responsibilities or money.

I believe it was a certain team that plays in black caused the
original rule that player/coaches count under the salary cap.
