Art'noon all, so bad secret now confirmed. The Acolyte has
returned to Mustafar.
So, someone who is such a great natural leader and builder of
cultures walks out of Paris after a disrupted year. Wonder
why???, not Top boy anymore? Clearly money not an issue for him
in general, as so loaded but I can't imagine Itoje and the other
new leaders will be pleased, as their new culture may well get
thrown out with the bath water.

Good luck to him. Sarries have struggled at 10 this year and I'm
sure his mates will be pleased he's back.

Do you really think so BB? Paying a fortune (in Rugby terms) to
buy him out his contract and get him back could be viewed on
quite a damning indictment on the current leadership group and
I can't see him being happy to not be top dog so what message
are you giving to the current Sarries, England & Lions captain
about his leadership?

I've seen no indication that OF was unpopular with the senior
players at Sarries and I doubt McCall would consider it if he
thought it would be an issue. In fact quite the opposite in that
pretty much every one of his peers whether they be Sarries,
England or Lions rate him highly as a colleague.
Also, where did you get the bit about him coming back to replace
Itoje as captain from?

Didn't Racing pay Sarries a fee when they signed him? I suspect
Sarries have bought him back for less than they originally
received, and I reckon his wages will be lower on his return too
if he's in a player/coach capacity.
Potentially a good move by Sarries if he can teach Burke a thing
or two.
Not sure he'll expect to be top dog. He's 34 and not been in any
sort of real form for about 2 years now.

IIRC, Racing paid ~500,00 Euros as a fee, so they've sold him
back for less. Also I think Lozowski is on a long term injury,
so i) they have some salary cap injury dispensation and ii)
they're light on FHs (I know that's not Lozowski's primary
position, but he does cover it for them).

Agree with you, he always seemed popular with his team mates and
Burke is in the lower half of Prem 10’s.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply he was replacing Itoje as Captain,
more that Itoje is trying to build his own profile in that role
and will be harder with a revered person standing on the
sidelines

I think if Itoje found that sort of thing a problem he probably
wouldn't be captain of England or the Lions.
