7 Prem games. Looks like there were 14 men’s games and 8 women’s
at the stoop games this season

The prem games are the only ones that are almost certain to be
sell outs, but yes there are womens games and prem cup games
and pre-season matches, but your revenue stream is at the moment
the prem games, womens attendances should increase with the
world cup.
My point is that you need a 14 team prem for gate income.

Not when we play teams like Black Sheep RFC from Andorra.

Nor me, but realistically we already need to expand capacity.
Think how much more income there would be if we had 25,000+ like
Tiggers. It's not just about ticket sales, it's everything, food
and beverage, shop sales, exposure...
If we're blocked by the council it's surely only a matter of
time till we move?

I don't think the council are a problem. If you think back to
the days of David Hughes being the CEO, we were already planning
on an expansion of the Stoop into the 20k+ capacity in concert
with the redevelopment of the college and other works. That had
the approval of the council in principle (I believe part of it
was allowing the council to get rid of part of the works behind
the South Stand that they no longer used/wanted). The funding
was being worked on.
With Hughes departure, and more imporantly a little thing called
Covid, the plans were shelved, but I think it would be fairly
easy to resurrect them if funding is found. It's the funding
that's the real issue at the moment. We need to get rid of the
Covid loans first before we can arrange the capital financing
for the redevelopment.

Gareth Roberts, Leader of Richmond Council, has openly said that
expansion of the Stoop is not in the best interests of the local
community

If/when the do redevelop, I suspect it'll need to be
multi-purpose in order for investors to see enough ROI. Spurs,
La Defense Arena etc are the new model. You can't have a venue
being used once every fortnight and rake in enough £££.

There was talk of taking over the council tip lorry space behind
the Stoop. I don't know how big a venue you could make that
into!
