Oh great - so not learned from the Halfpenny/Launchbury
experience that signing aging players enjoying semi-retirement
in Japan doesn't particularly strengthen the squad

Well, you would have to say that Wilson must have first-hand
knowledge of him from his Glasgow days, so ...
But there again, what do we think of his Glasgow days ...?

George Turner is a quality player - good signing, but as someone
said above, this suggests Walker might be off.
Let's hope this is the start of a run of new signing
announcements - next up, a LH and an IC please!

If he's a direct replacement for Walker probably an upgrade.
If not, with the other hookers we have, its frustrating we
couldn't keep one of the best prospects in Jibulu. That is of
course unless we offered him a very good deal and he still
turned it down

I suspect he's here as much as a mentor to the younger players
than as a regular starter.

Completely disagree, I'd expect Turner to come straight in as
starting hooker.

I think it is very difficult to judge Halfpenny without knowing
what his contract was
We was probably on a limited medical joker contract and as a
result, he probably did okay.

Ah, so we have to consider the contract somebody was on to
understand whether he's expected to play well or contribute
anything to the team? Got it.

I love this idea that clubs sign players and pay full time wages
to hold the hands of players on senior contracts.

Well, he used to be pretty good, but I've grown suspicious of
players who've been in Japan and then come back. Both Launchbury
and Halfpenny were no longer up to standard. Older players
who've been competing in what, without wanting to be mean, is
not top flight rugby.
I hope I'm wrong and Turned shows himself to still have it.
