Quins are a comfortable club who prioritise brand and marketing
above results. Seeing what's happened to wasps, Irish and
Worcester, maybe that's the right way.
The signings prove they're not serious about winning anything.
The reaction the Danny kicking it out against Exeter show that a
lot of supporters aren't really fussed about success
So of course we'll stick with a mediocre coach rather than
someone who'll upset people

I'm sorry, really didn't see a massive improvement in style
against Exeter. We had 2/3 possession and barely scraped a win.
Let's not forget that Exeter are a terrible side who recently
shipped almost 80.
We played some ok stuff against glaws and our back 3 had an
absolute field day, but nothing close to the rugby we played
during Tabs' 2nd season, which was arguably better than the
title run (albeit the defence was horrendous and we lost far too
many games).
This is style.

2021/22 3rd with 95 tries (p24)
2022/23 6th with 78 tries (p20)
Last year under Danny 6th with 71 (p18)
This year (so far) 7th with 56 (p17)
Actually, watching those highlights back it's pretty clear that
quins' best attacking rugby came in 2021 and 2022. Since then
it's been off a cliff rather than downhill. I'd we want to get
back to that, it ain't gonna be with Wilson.

Yes, we have some work to do to get back our style and our DNA.
I hope what we saw in the last few weeks was the beginning of
that.

Not relentlessly giving the ball away was a change from most of
the season tbf

Yup, that would be years 2 and 3 of the 3 year plan.

We're replacing international class players with academy
graduates and experienced or past their best senior players.
We tried this with CoS and it didn't work. Maybe it will work
this time. I am not holding my breath.

About halfway down the article, but this will obviously be of
interest
:
“Northampton Saints scrum coach Matt Ferguson, who is leaving
Franklin’s Gardens, will become a target for Harlequins if Adam
Jones moves to Wales on a full-time basis later this summer.
The black, green and golds announced in January that Ferguson
would depart when his contract expires at the end of June, and
are set to hand the role to Jaco Pienaar, according to Fissler
Confidential snitches.
Jones is on the WRU’s wanted list to work alongside Steve Tandy
and Danny Wilson in a new-look Wales coaching team, which would
leave Quins needing to replace him. Ferguson is highly regarded
at the Twickenham Stoop.”
The focus is on losing Bomb but casually dropping in that we’d
be losing the head coach too.

Wouldn’t be a bad replacement although I’m not sure that’s the
area that needs a shake up. I think our attack is in need of a
refresh along with our desire to defend.

Nev needs to be moved on or a different role, forwards hasn’t
really been an issue bar the scrum but that’s due to personnel

I disagree, I'd rather fight to keep Bomb as he has more than
earned his corn. I accept that international coaching is the
pinnacle but money talks.
MQ, our scrum has been very decent for the last couple of
seasons and the backup front rows aren't as much of a drop down
in how they scrummage as before.
As stated in other threads, agree that nEV needs some different
voices around him re attack.
