The opening match in next year's Six Nations, France v Ireland,
is being played on a Thursday night to avoid a clash with the
opening of the Winter Olympics in France.

That's going to annoy the Italians, who thought that they were
going to host the 2026 winter Olympics...

Apologies. I assumed that because the opening ceremony will be
in Chamonix, the games will be in France.

The opening ceremony is at the San Siro in Milan

Eh? Why couldn't they play the game at the Weekend? Is Winter
Olympics such a draw? In which case why haven't all the 6N
fixtures been moved?

I think the WO has much more of an interest in France/Italy etc
than here, so with their tv scheduling etc I imagine it’s taken
a bit of a back seat

I tell you what, I bet the Irish Winter Olympic team are
ecstatic, that would have really screwed up their viewing
schedules!!!

Have the Norwegians been informed? Hell is only a small town
quite far into the arctic circle. The world had better take its
thermals, it freezes over there in winter ⛄
