You're ignoring Europe to suit your argument - nice!
How about a more important stat - 5 tries in Freeman's last 5
games. Who on earth would want to drop a player with that recent
record... oh yeah, someone who thinks Quirke and Randall are a
       class above Mitchell!

Now now chap. I didn't advocate for dropping Freeman any more
than I advocated for dropping Mitchell. But yes, the
conversation is about the prem, so I looked at tries in... The
       prem.

Actually it's about players in the Premiership; nothing to do
with what games they play in.
Equally your comment about it not being about international
rugby is irrelevant too. It's just about the best players in the
       premiership in given positions.

The conversation is about a combined prem team. Of course how
they perform in the prem is relevant.
Of course it not being international rugby is relevant. You
think Christian wade was a bad player at prem level because he
didn't play much for england? It's a lower standard,
deficiencies, particularly in defence, aerially, are much less
of a concern at club level.

       FWIW:
Mark Smith - the Falcons’ (very reasonable) Media Manager - has
       put his Prem XV out.
Purely his opinion based on what he’s seen in the league.
WEv makes it as “Quins’ pilferer in chief”although I thought
Kenners had more steals this season
Chick is perhaps a (perfectly permissible) emotional choice

At work, we use the theory that if there are two perfectly good
options that of is difficult to choose a clear 'better' option,
then in reality, both options are equally good. So, choose one
       based on a coin toss.
Or, assume that as a percentage, one player is 100%, and the
other options are between 98% and 99%, then they are all equally
       capable.
But, for me, if I was picking a Quins team, I would pick Murley
even if it was proved that another winger was ever so marginally
       better.

I don't know whether this holds up this season, but certainly
pre RWC Murley was statistically the best winger in the Prem,
being in the top 2 or 3 for most of the metrics available. The
wingers also broadly divided into those who could finish inside
the 22, and those who scored long distance tries, and Murley was
the only player who was prominent in both.
His height seems to count against him at international level,
given how key kicking is to England's tactics, but for Quins
he's an ideal fit. Given a free swap, a fully fit IFW would
sorely tempt me, but not many others.

I didn't say it wasn't, just that it's not the only criteria.

It never occurred to me that it was important, when judging how
good a player is, that you should use the lowest standard they
played at rather than the highest.

I was just wondering what Cadan's numbers are, when he goes and
       improves them :)

To some extent, yes but not that much.
England, like a lot of teams, play a kick chaser on one wing and
       a speedster/stepper on the other.
Looking at the wings used in the 6N (all heights from
Wikipedia), Cadan is 5'9" and Sleightholme is 5'11.5". IFW is
6'. For me they all fall into the latter camp.
Freeman is 6'3", Roebuck is 6'2" - they're the kick chasers.
