Watched the semi and the final. Good fun and loads of the
senior squad watching having a good time. Billy clearly still
popular with the players at least.

gone backwards in their career under Wilson. Lennox, Trenholm
and Bradley don’t even feature anymore and Hammond and Riley
this season look to be used only when injuries allow them. All
of them were really promising players but not the players they
once were and all under 25. We are still losing even when
Wilson’s first choice side is playing, Quins really need a
change of coaches.

Lennox did have one of the worst individual performances I've
ever seen, so there's that
Anyway, an excellent result to win this tournament. Well done
lads. A little bit of cheer at least.

Totally agree, but 1 rotten performance doesn’t mean you should
be forgotten about. Raffi Quirke ( who a few on this forum want
at Quins) was subbed before half time in 1 game but faith was
kept in him. I think Quins at the moment want to buy themselves
out of trouble with proven players instead of nurturing players.

Good stuff. I used to love going to the floodlit 7s at Rosslyn
park, and the proper Middlesex many years ago before they ruined
it. Glad we still take part in these things

I really wanted Lennox to succeed but he was someone who was
always on the edge of proving himself, this season was his big
opportunity and he blew it. Then he signed for a french side
very early. The time between these events was very short.

The senior squad currently contains the following players who've
come through the academy (though in some cases joining it
relatively late):
Anderson
Anyanwu
Baxter
Beard
Chisholm
Hammond
Head
Hyde
Kenningham
Lamb
Launchbury (well, sort of...)
Murley
Musk
Riley
Smith
Trenholm
White
This season the following academy players have also played for
the senior team:
Benson
Bradley
Cleaves
Friday
Hobson
Jibulu
Kerr
Murray
Schmid
Slevin
Waghorn
Zheng
We are set to lose Anyanwu and Jibulu - both in positions where
we have several academy or ex-academy players in the squad - and
I think I read Hammond (which is a bit disappointing, but we've
got Treadwell - ex-academy and now an international -
returning). That's 28 homegrown players we've brought or are
bringing through, of whom 3 are leaving. That's a reasonable hit
rate.
