This isn’t the coaching, this playing group are done

Facebook and here full of ranting about the coaches.
Sure. But this playing group are the ones who can’t play rugby.
Marcus, our absolute family hero, needs to take time away from
rugby - he’s got nothing left, he may be harming the team. No
one know what he’s trying to do - probably including him.
Dombrandt - mostly harmless
Endless other players showing nothing.
As per previous post I worry there’s some self righteous “player
power” crap going on here that’s destroying the club
We need someone to come in and take control.

I worry it's the opposite. The players don't look happy playing.

Yeah, same could have been said December 2021.

I actually would start Benson and Murray next next. I think
Benson will be less flashy but more consistent in the long run
and Gjatelma just needs to drop into the memory banks he’s
useless.

I actually don’t agree. At that point the playing group were
coherent and a solid group of players - don’t get that sense at
all here.
Even if they were - that was a one off.
We are in serious trouble and my guess is there are elements in
the dressing room making it worse.

Dombrandt is a shadow of the player he was a while back. So is
Smith
If so many good players are playing badly then it can only be
the coaching

I think a lot of the squad are still great players, but are
massively overhyped and I think some fans seem to think we have
an above average quality of squad compared to others in the
league, which really isn’t true.
England have ruined Marcus, Dombrandt is a flat track bully and
a poor leader who always goes missing when it’s difficult, Green
isn’t the player he was post injury. Northmore and Beard are
good players but I don’t think either would be snapped up and
chucked in to start for the majority of the teams above us
currently.
Second row is fairly poor but hopefully addressed for next
season, same can’t be said for the front row. Baxter has taken a
slight step back from the start of the season but I think his
confidence has been knocked.
There is a fair few players who seem to start a fair few games
but I’d not lose much sleep over if left, but only if it wasn’t
play a player who could turn out for a vets team.
David, Walker, Launchbury, Titi, Kerrod, Els etc are all players
who really won’t get a better gig if they left us (probably).
I think Evans and Bomb may be part of the problem, let’s not
forget they were part of the coaching set up under previous poor
performances. Maybe things have become too much of a mates club
so to speak, but clearly the playing squad have been poorly
coached and aren’t enjoying rugby. Combine that with
discontent/potential cliques it’s a recipe for failure

Well said as it is something I think people are afraid to say on
here. Granted that they were great players and have moved on
with thier coaching, but has it become a "little too cushy? "
Would love to see Wilson go ASAP as he has taken us backwards.
He said at state of Nation this was "year 2 of a 3 year plan".
Laurie do a U turn and get shot of him now. I have taken out a
season ticket for Harlequins Ladies next season. Much more
enjoyable time and not having to spend a fortune on watching
some of the dross the men have served up this year. COYQ

Weren't Evans and Bomb a part of the coaching when we won the
Premiership?

Dombrandt has repeatedly stood up to be counted this season when
the team has been failing. Calling him a flat track bully is
absurd. He's being asked to run through brick walls while also
trying to create things in a very negative game plan and has not
been shirking the effort at all.
Today he made more line breaks than any of his team mates, 2nd
most carries in the pack, made more metres than any other
forward in the match, took more lineout ball than any other
Quin, won a crucial turnover on our own line, and didn't miss a
tackle unlike practically the entire team. And that's when he
doesn't have a particularly good game by his standards.
Beard is a fantastic player who is performing heroics in defence
pretty much every match at the moment, with the occasional
attacking highlight. He would start for most teams.
