Danny Care also alluded to more focus on defence than attack at
his book signing night as well.
He’s looked past it this season but most of the backline has
played poorly as well so who knows if he is actually past it or
it’s the way they are being asked to play
I wouldn’t mind our focus being on defence coaching if we
actually had a good defence as a result. Its just blunted out
attack and we still leak tries
Wilson just isn’t a very good head coach, never succeeded
anywhere.
I do wonder whether we need a new broom as the back team have
also been there a good few years so they have to bear some
responsibility
Quins never seem to recruit a head coach with a proven track
record. It’s either journeymen who have done not much elsewhere
who were better not as head coach (Matson, Wilson, Kingston) or
taking a flyer on a promising young coach (O’Shea, Gustard).
Dean Richards is the only exception I can think of
Would love them to take a punt on someone like a Cheika

From what I understand of the Gustard era it was more to do with
his Eddie Jones style micromanagement that broke the camels
back. It is alleged coaches couldn’t coach (hence Long moving
on) as it didn’t fit with his ideas.
He did make some great signings and give us some fight we don’t
usually have. I think he could have been a success if he changed
his style to give other coaches and players empowerment.
I would like to see Lancaster come in and replace Billy then
build from there.

One person not mentioned is Flannery. We've been poorer without
him IMO. Together with Nev and Bomb they were a really good
coaching team, led by Billy.

think it's the manner of how the games have played out that is
the concern. The regression in our style of play has been quite
shocking. Getting nilled at Gloucester and Leinster, Bristol
putting 50+ past us at home, labouring to victories over
Newcastle and just a general lack of spark in the team suggests
that these are not the early signs of a project that will soon
click, it is just regression. The recruitment has largely been
very poor and uninspiring too.

I suspect that management (Laurie) has been consulting the
senior players this week. I can't believe he isn't thinking
"enough is enough" after the Sale performance. It's one thing to
get smashed by Ireland (Leinster) away—that can be put down as a
one-off, maybe—but to be humiliated at home with droves leaving
the ground before full time is NOT good optics for sponsors or
potential new season ticket sales. I'm sure he will share
boroughquin's thoughts. Watch this space for an announcement
next week, after Leicester? Or will commercial concerns mean
that nothing will be said or done until after BSKO? By then, we
will likely have lost two more Premiership matches and be
languishing in 8th place, above only Newcastle and Exeter.

Would take Diamond at the drop of a hat
Also worth considering Ross, he’s done a great job with the
women’s team

I your opinion maybe !
Well it would be better than the current set up, yes he's
outspoken however his last visit to the naughty step you have to
say had a valid point.
Anyway would be worth seasons trial to see how he gets on.
I have spoken to him many times and comes across as passionate
about the sport and his job.
Diamond does not suffer fools and is similar mould to Dean
Richards.
What have Quins got to loose ???
