If we used the Laissez faire capitalism approach to rugby I
don't think there'd be much of a game below international level
left in the country. Sarries, Bath and Brizzle playing each
other on a loop maybe? On the plus side for TNT they could show
even more shots of Bruce Craig and Dyson.

Well, until even they got bored of it. Those guys could spend a
fortune on players like the biggest French clubs and then you'd
have complaining from other quarters (our Celtic cousins) that
everything was unfair. In a similar way to how most people talk
       about Leinster now.

Yeah, letting it be a financial arms race is only good for the
winners. Terrible for everyone else, including the fans. We've
already seen how badly it impacts competition in both the
premiership (Saracens era) and the current champions cup.

Higher ticket prices, increased merch and food/drink charges.
Possibly a new TV deal which will increase viewing prices whilst
players earn Ł1mil plus a season.
Hence why I'm not a fan but accept it'll go that way.

While this looks potentially revolutionary on the face of it,
when all is said and done I'm not sure this will amount to much
more than a formally (as opposed to just in practice) ring
fenced league containing the "correct" additional teams
(probably the phoenix versions of wasps, Worcester and Irish).
Personally I'm not finding the current 10 team version of the
league particularly satisfying due to the poor value for the
cost of the season ticket and the massive gaps between rounds
which ruins any momentum, so I'm pretty much in favour of
       anything which can change this.
