Harlequins Launch New Club App
HTML https://www.quins.co.uk/article/harlequins-launch-new-club-app
Harlequins is delighted to announce the launch of a brand-new
and club-first app designed to bring supporters closer to the
action.
Available to download for free from the App Store and the Google
Play store from today (Tuesday 15th April), the Harlequins App
will offer a dynamic and user-friendly platform that allows fans
to stay connected with the team whether they’re at the stadium,
on the move, or following the action from home.
The purpose of the brand-new platform is to serve as a matchday
companion app for the Club’s loyal supporters and will be live
ahead of this weekend’s Gallagher Premiership fixture against
Sale Sharks.
At its core, the app features five main sections upon launch:
Latest: Stay updated with breaking news, team news, club updates
and live scores.
Video: Watch highlights and curated video content across
Harlequins Men, Women, and Academy teams.
My Quins: Log in with your ticketing account to unlock exclusive
content, purchase match tickets and access matchday support
information.
Matches: View upcoming fixtures, results, match statistics, and
competition standings.
More: A gateway to additional Harlequins content available
across the web and social media.
Supporter experience will be enhanced through real-time
notifications during Men’s Gallagher Premiership and European
competitions - covering kick-offs, tries, conversions, cards,
and final results, with an ambition to expand to Women’s league
matches in the future. Live match stats will also be available,
including defensive and attacking metrics and offering deeper
insight into each performance.
Supporters can explore detailed player profiles and stats,
access exclusive content, and use the app to plan their matchday
experience - complete with tailored information for each
fixture.
Whether you’re heading to The Stoop, following along from afar,
or reliving the action later, the new Harlequins app is designed
to keep you closer to the game than ever before.
Download it for free today and get ready to elevate your
matchday experience.

It looks okay - but, I was hoping for a bit more.
It doesn't seem to have Rewards. Basically, it just has a link
to the Rewards webpage.
And, I hoped it would have a digital membership card (like the
webpage basically does.)
So, I can't see the point at the moment.

Installed it, tried it for a few minutes. Discovered it's a POS.
Uninstalled it.
One day Harlequins may do something with technolgy which
suggests there's at least one person at the club who has the
first clue about technology. I await that day but I'm not
holding my breath.

Piece Of S**t
The app is mostly just links to the website, shown through a
browser inside the app. It really is the bare minimum you can do
and be called an app and offers nothing over using the website.

Ok so on the positive, as above, this won’t have cost a fortune.
It does mean you can read their posts and watch videos in-app to
save using things from the early 2000s like websites and email,
so that’s a bonus.
Having the match calendar as a one-click is also good.
Not having mystoop integration seems a big miss at launch, and
everything else being links out is a little disappointing.
I guess having all the links out in one place is better than not
having all that info in one place and having to find it.
Not sure what it’s going to deliver for the club in its current
form - is there enough in it for members to care? Not sure. Is
it going to drive sales? Can’t see it.
Maybe there’s some customer data they’ll get that might help but
again can’t quite see it.

I wouldn't start slagging it off just yet.
We don't really know what the app does yet.
In my post, I said that I can't see the point at the moment.
But, I'm guessing that it will have push notifications, etc.
And, looking at the app, it looks as though it will download
more functionality. So, we may find that it may download more
functionality for next season, etc.
Also, agree with championes, it shouldn't have cost a fortune.
And - it does give them option to get some good marketing data.
