Needs to be level playing field in this tournament. Amazed that
yet again Leinster gets home match this time against Saints in
       Semis. Cannot be right this?

Where else in Ireland would you play it?

sports. You have to reverse that trend for long term survival.
The sports that have done so are appealing to a younger audience
and women. For rugby, the women's competitions and things like
the Big Game are the right approach - even if I happen not to be
       a massive BG fan.

       Ageing audiences are still audiences.

For now... An ageing audience basically means that you are only
appealing to the same people and not bringing any new people
into your audience. And the concern is that as those people
leave your audience, because they get too old to attend any
       more, your reach declines.
You can cater exclusively to an existing audience for a few
years, but even to survive as an entertainment business you need
a way to bring new supporters in.

Kids being able to watch club rugby on free-to-air channels is
the thing that will make the difference. All the rest is just
       fluff.

I doubt it. Kids don't watch much on regular TV any more.
It is all about streaming nowadays.

Those channels are all free to access. How long someone’s
attention span is important obviously but access is vital.

Basically though, if you only watch streamed channels and don't
watch the BBC or anything live, then you don't need a license.
There is no point buying a TV unless you have a license (unless
you are a gamer who uses a console rather than a PC).
So, it still goes down the route that it is pointless putting
stuff on free-to-air for a younger audience.

That's why I added that it should be grown organically. It's
easier and more long lasting to gain new followers who are
introduced by the existing audience, than by trying to appeal to
people who are more likely to follow a fad.
