I think Baxter is probably the most likely to go as I think he
would be a good midweek option. I personally think Smith is
50/50 to go. How he has played recently I would say leaning to
no, but if he has a strong season finish its still in his hands

But at 30 years old, 6ft and just 90kg is he really going to set
the Prem alight as a 12? Seems unlikely.

Probably not, as I imagine we wouldn't get that much value out
of it. He could well do a job though, but again very few of the
top sides appear to be recruiting from the ages we are. I'd
personally be looking for some closer to 23-26 so we can at
least get some value out of them, hopefully where their best
years aren't already behind them.

It is certainly old for a back.
The average age for our backs is 25 *.
* Excluding Danny Care as he is a massive outlier; Excluding
1/2p as he is only on a medical joker short term contract
(unless anyone knows different??)
[edit] also excluded Jonny Law as a. I didn't see his age on the
sheet and b. he is also a medical joker short term contract
[edit #2] also, didn't include academy players as this would
skew the number

I also think it will have been a great experience and a learning
curve for Waghorn. Impressively, he seemed to cope very well and
even came out of it with credit.

If we were looking to get younger talent in at 12 then I think
Mason Grady at Cardiff would be worth a shout.
23 yrs old.
6'5"
111kg
Big boy. But alas...

Also like the look of Zack Wimbush at the Chiefs if his contract
was up for grabs and we know that Exeter need the money.

The WRU is apparently poised to take them over.
Not sure if that's a cause for celebration or an "out of the
frying pan into the fire" situation, given the WRU's own woes
