To anyone under a certain age, that’s a great big “whoosh” over
the head.

They’ve presumably never been 22 minutes late. Track works near
St Margarets.

Interestingly I was listening to a podcast interview with Oscar
Beard and he said that the Showdown last Sat was the last one at
Tottenham's stadium and would be moving elsewhere (or just
cancelled) in the future. Wonder if it doesn't make any money
for Sarries if they can't get enough fans? What did Laurie say
the break-even number at HQ was? Something like 50k?

I knew that this year's even t was the last one to be set as
definitively being played against us (can't remember where I
heard that) but I guess that they will want to still hold at
least one game at a larger stadium. It could be that Tottenham
want/need the stadium themselves or there's other events coming
up that necessitate a move, but I would have thought that they
can at least make a modest profit at another venue that's larger
than Barnet.

Mark Evans originally said that at 50k they would make as much
profit from a game at HQ as they would from a sell out game at
the Stoop, and that anything over that was very profitable for
the club. Laurie has confirmed that as well.

Bath's games got approx 60k attendance so they would have made a
profit, but I think there was backlash from supporters having to
schlep all the way up the M4. It's quite a bit further to travel
compared to the 500m walk across the A316 that we do for BG &
BSKO.
Sarries games started well in terms of attendance, but there was
a drop off over the years. They probably still made a profit.
I remember Wasps holding a game at Twickenham in 2014, for which
they got less than 40k attendance, which would have meant a
financial loss for them . Saints have occasionally used Stadium
MK for Prem games & got c. 60% capacity so would probably have
made a profit from those. I'm not sure why they stopped. It's
going to be interesting to see how full the Principality is in
May when Bristol have their game there...

Absolutely! I can remember Mark Evans releasing the the figures
for profit/income generated by attendances when, IIRC, people
were moaning about having the Big Game and wanted the fixture
back at the Stoop after about the second or third one. The Big
Game made up a ridiculous amount of our attendance income. I
wish I had the figures but it was something like 25%.

I think they're expecting close on a full house. Apparently
there are loads of Welsh people who haven't seen a decent game
of rugby for 3 or 4 years.

Just had a look at the Bristol website & they've sold 40k
apparently. Probably helps that it's a "local" Derby game with
Bath as well.
