I kind of understand why Prem Rugby would want to come back with
a bang after so long off so on that basis the Derby Weekend
makes sense. The execution however is flawed.
Would it have worked as well to just say that the Prem is back?

It's an argument that will never be won. We will grow the game,
have 50,000 fans in the stadium a good television slot but need
to have our best players otherwise it won't work. Prem rugby
will never turn that down but the fact that we can chose to rest
players is our way of pushing back. It's their big day so will
always have their big players.

surely?

The Cheats will never fill a ground without us there annoyingly.

Apparently Marler’s new role as Player Welfare Manager is to
ensure this is obeyed:

Saracens getting dispensation from the RFU to play their England
players - who have often had higher involvement - whereas Quins
have not been granted it.

chalked the fixture off and decided to get their rest week out
of the way (they haven't said). But the disparity doesn't sit
well with the fans south of the river.

Whilst I agree, the pedant in me must point out we are still
North of the river! 🙂

The pedant in me would like to thank you for your contribution
and point out that, technically, the Stoop is also south and
west of the river Thames, and south and east of the Duke of
Northumberland’s river, and that many fans do live south of the
river, including myself and (presumably) SussexQuin and
MaidstoneQuin.

The big river/English Channel is 30 minutes walk through the

I seem to recall Quins being told that Marcus wasn't allowed to
play, but Sarries were free to pick Farrell(?) on a previous
occasion.
