It's official, Herbst is off

Harlequins can confirm second row Irné Herbst will depart the
Club this summer to join CA Brive.
The South African lock arrived at The Stoop in 2022 from United
Rugby Championship side Benetton Rugby after a five-year stint
with the Italian outfit.
Herbst, who has 61 appearances in the Quarters to date, will
swap the Gallagher Premiership for Pro D2 following the
conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign
Everyone at Harlequins would like to thank Irné for his
contribution to the Club throughout his time in the Quarters.

with the 2 Second Rows incoming i'm not too upset by this. I
just hope we can keep hold of Dino!

There is no comparison really.
Some of the D2 teams are probably more comparable to some of our
Prem teams in terms of support and facilities.
E.g. the Beziers stadium is bigger than the Stoop (Capacity:
18,555) along with 4 others.
The teams have good (noisy) travelling support too.

Gutted about this. One of my favourites. Even if he has an off
day, at least gives it everything and a great bloke off the
paddock too.

It's a lot easier to get promoted from Pro D2.

A shame as Irne always puts a big shift in, makes shed loads of
first-up tackles and has remained relatively injury free. I'd
of preferred us keeping Irne and letting Launchbury go, but
suspect the sums didn't add up.
At least we've already got his replacement lined-up in
Treadwell.

Think he improved quite a bit with us and got to the point where
he is a real asset to the team. We'll miss him.
