I don't think it's the most ludicrous thing to say. England's
two problems for a while now have been a suicidal defence and a
negative attack. The former has been patched up nicely and the
latter is getting better. England were extremely close to NZ,
beat Ireland last year, beat France this, etc. They're clearly
in the chasing pack at least.

I guess it really depends who you think the heavyweights are. If
it's the group containing SA, NZ, France, Ireland - the four
best for the last few years - then it's easy to argue. If it's
just SA and Ireland (home edition) then England are a step
behind for sure

Well. We should have beaten NZ in the. Autumn. But only because
of the forgotten man.
England rolling over the worst Welsh side in living memory has
papered over some absolute chasms.

Especially if you're a Quins fan - some of the best we've seen
have those where we had no control for large amounts of time but
have still come out dramatic winners.
