Will Joseph to Gloucester

Harlequins can confirm Will Joseph will depart the club this
summer to join Gloucester Rugby ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The centre, who joined from London Irish in 2023, will leave The
Stoop after a two-year stay with the Club.
Joseph has represented the Quarters on 20 occasions and scored
seven tries to date.
The Club would like to thank Will for his contribution to
Harlequins throughout his time in the Quarters.

Think it's a great shame he's off. Unfortunate timing really
with Beard and Northmore. Worry it's one we'll regret but you
never know.

And another one. Outside centre isn't necessarily a position we
need to bring a big name in, so I hope the money saved goes
towards some decent props, or at least a class inside centre, as
I hope we have worked out Luke is not a 12.

We're pretty well stocked at centre. Northmore, Beard and Hyde
are the senior centres assuming Anyanwu is also leaving, but
Murley is also listed as a centre (and has the right attributes
to play 13).
When you look at the senior academy centres, there's Bradley and
Kerr, with Benson also listed. Oh, and Waghorn who I think has
gone a long way towards proving that he's a 12.

Waghorn has certainly shown he can relied upon, and we've lost
really nothing starting him ahead of Lennox. I just hope we have
identified a key strength of our game is having quality in key
positions, as in my view the step down from tighthead and 12 in
particular is why we've gone from a team who isn't far away from
a convo of being in the top 4, to a team probably lucky to be in
the mix for it

12 and 3 have definitely been difficult positions this year
(with a question mark over whether we have depth at 1 as well).
But for me the question is less about whether we need to recruit
than whether we have confidence that the team can develop the
current squad. This feels a lot like a transitional year for the
club rather than one where we were title contenders from the
off.
TH is a position where it can take a season for a player to
adapt, so the question is whether Bomb will have had enough time
to work his magic on next year's roster. Ditto with our
upcoming/backup looseheads. But he's got form for doing it, so
the bigger worry for me is whether he gets nicked permanently by
Wales.
Waghorn looks more than reliable to me. He's a different player
from Andre - less physical, inevitably, but with an ability to
take the ball to the line and pass out of contact that already
looks like a point of difference. The trick now is to keep him
fit and develop his skills so that he has something to draw on
as defences get more used to him, then to bring through one of
the other candidates at 12.

I may regret this but 12 feels fixable internally, especially as
we can switch Dommers there for certain plays during a match but
really get Waggers (can we call him that yet???) and Bradley
playing the same way and that will get us moving forward, so to
speak.
Agree at TH, Titi is improving but still having issues and if
Dills is off, then we need a guaranteed first choice.

Joseph looked decent last game but beard and northmore are two
very good options, so not too sad about him going. Makes sense
for him.
I imagine he was a bit of a bargain as we picked him up from
Irish, so not sure about any significant extra room under the
cap.
Much less fussed about Anyanwu going now given how waghorn is
doing. Jibulu is annoying and I think it'd be a shame if Dino
goes, but guess he takes up more room under the cap as he's no
longer eqp
