Harlequins have made ten changes for their trip to Ealing
Trailfinders in Round 5 of the Premiership Rugby Cup (Saturday
08 February, 15:00).
Head Coach Danny Wilson has rotated his squad for Quins' short
journey to West London to take on Pool C rivals Ealing
Trailfinders. The two sides are level on points (17) heading
into the fixture, with the Championship outfit sitting atop of
the pool on points difference.
In the backline, Nick David returns to the wing and Cameron
Anderson shifts to full-back, while Ben Waghorn and Will Joseph
line up in the midfield.
Will Porter and Jarrod Evans have also been named in the
starting XV at scrum-half and fly-half respectively.
Joe Launchbury will captain the Quarters at the Trailfinders
Sports Ground as Wyn Jones and Sam Riley start in the front row.
Jack Kenningham and Will Evans bolster Quins’ back row from
blind and openside flanker for the Round 5 contest.

Decent team. With such a long break I guess they need to give
everyone game time.

I think it's the humiliation of potentially being beaten by
Ealing that will be driving this more than any real interest in
the Premiership Cup for its own sake.

Makes sense to make sure we're in the hunt for the Prem Cup
towards the end of the season morale-wise I guess - our Prem
playoff chances hang in the balance so can this be a bit of
silverware to give us more confidence going into next season?
Could be playing into the logic...
It doesn't keep any of us happy, but maybe the coaches are
thinking that the boys need to make it to a final and challenge
for something to breed a bit of a contenders mentality.

A good run in the "junior" cups - PRC and Challenge Cup has
often been a precursor for a good run in the Prem or Champ Cup
the following season. I think we take it seriously because it's
a good introduction to the senior side for the emerging players.

Agreed, and I think that success from the "youngsters" shows
that they're snapping at the heels of the "oldsters", which in
turn encourages the "oldsters" to work/perfor, harder.

A Bonus Point win tomorrow would put us on 22 points going into
the Sarries game. I think 1 point in that game would be enough
to finish as one of the three best 2nd placed teams (at least)
and qualify for the quarters. Of course, we will hope for more
and, presumably, a better seeding.

I thought we could top the group? So why play for and accept 2nd
spot
