Humble pie being eaten. I still can't believe how bad France
were.

Teams are generally as good or bad as the opposition allows them
to be. In the first half in Dublin, England made Ireland look
pretty ordinary, but they couldn't sustain it. They were more
patient against France - but still had a suffocating defence
that only intermittently allowed them to show what they could
do. And when they did - perhaps feeling that they had to
capitalise - France forced things a little too much and
overplayed the conditions. If they had been the only side doing
that, then you could pin it all on them, but England had similar
moments of trying too hard - Mitchell's pass into Marcus's face
for example.
England had a good strategy to contain France, and it largely
worked.

France were extremely poor right from the start and making
handling errors under no pressure, several in the first 15
minutes.
Sometimes teams do just make lots of mistakes regardless of the
opposition. Especially when the opposition is playing even
worse. France kept dropping the ball but were otherwise streets
ahead of England for much of the first half; England on the
other hand were dreadful in attack and defence and can count
themselves extremely lucky that French players simply forgot how
to make simple catches.

Hopefully this fires up France to beat Ireland
