"Not considered for selection"

This phrase is beginning to completely drive me mad! I'm almost
equally irritated by "Game Changers" but at least I know what
that means.
Does "not considered for selection" mean (1) because they're
away with their national team (Sinckler)? (2) because they're
injured (Robshaw)? (3) because they're just not very good
(Ward)? — oops, I see he's listed as a Game Changer... or (4)
because Paul Gustard just wants to be deliberately ambiguous
(and hence, irritating)?
Could we have a poll to persuade the club to stop treating us
like imbeciles and just tell us who's available for selection
(i.e. not chosen) and who's not available (injured, away, etc.)?

Simple: If your name isn't in the squad and isn't on the 'not
considered for selection' you are not doing enough in training
or on the pitch and you need to improve

In fairness, does it matter, whatever the reason, they are not
playing. If Gustard wants to leave it at that, why not. As for
game changers, I call them subs but again, if it make PG happy,
I don't care

It matters only insofar as — surely — the list should always be
made up of every single name in the first team and academy
squads MINUS those who are in the matchday 23, shouldn't it...?
What about those who are neither listed as 'not considered' nor
in the matchday squad...?

I agree with honkytonk , while his system is working don't
knock it !
The list encompasses those away on International Duty and
injured , plus those that are in the frame but havent made the
matchday 23 for tactical or other reasons .
returnoftheshrek has nailed it for the 'missing' - I expect
those not on that list will be left with no doubt about what is
expected from them to improve
He is trying to do things differently from last season in lots
of areas and hasn't been forthcoming at all with injury updates
, maybe he thinks it will benefit future opponents ?,( or
doesn't want to be seen to be hiding behind that as an excuse)
if that's the case then any ambiguity will be deliberate .

I think it’s great and support it totally.
We don’t know if they’re injured or just total bobbins - and
assume it motivates players to get in the squad.
Hope it annoys as many fans as possible. We all have favourite
players, and he may well think our favourites are over the hill,
not performing or just not good enough.
He’s the boss - building a new team who actually work for each
other and for a place.
Long may we be in the dark.

I believe 'not considered' actually means 'not available', if
you think of it this way then that sums it up - any one on
neither list is not good enough for selection.

This. Look at it the other way round - if you WERE considered
for selection and were not named, you need to improve.
