Evening all. We (Glasgow) are sending a fairly strong team down.
Probably the only player not listed as injured who you'd say
would be in our first XV would be Tuipolotu. A wee bit of a
knock last week and probably being wrapped in cotton wool for
the 6N now. He'd also be making a case for inclusion in a world
XV at the moment, so it's a big loss. But don't for a minute
underestimate his replacement, Stafford McDowall - a big unit
with soft hands and a big boot.
We're welcoming back a couple in the back row, but still a bit
stretched for cover in the second row.
All in all, many of the same selection issues that you seem to
have for this game!
Were a good, settled team full of confidence. A good mix of dog
and flair. Generally the teams that beat us either do so by
suffocating us at the breakdown (sounds a little like what
you're aiming for?), or by being even more wild and madcap than
us (we will run the ball from absolutely everywhere - which can
be both exciting and worrying!).
Looking forward to the game - if both teams play like we know
they can it could be a cracker.

Thanks ESW. Oddly enough, Quins can both suffocate the ball at
the breakdown and be wild and madcap, but we've been struggling
in attack this season and particularly with butterfingers near
the tryline.
The teams we've done worst against have been those who've
offered an overwhelming level of power (Toulon, for intance) or
who (legally or otherwise) have a lightning fast blitz defence
and can close us down before Marcus can pick a target. The
weather is threatening to be cold and probably a bit misty, so I
will be surprised if a free flowing game breaks out - but if one
or both teams are switched on, we might see some breaks on the
counter from dropped balls.
It'll be good to welcome your travelling fans (and Huw Jones)
back to the Stoop.

It was minus 8 by full time in Glasgow's last game against
Racing, so we've had some practice at that at least!

Indeed. I think we get at least 2 a season.

In fairness, Chis has put in some very good performances this
season.

After that try, maybe Chis should fill in at 12 😁

High tackle aside, the defender chooses to tackle the decoy who
was onside. Try should have stood.

Cracking contest. High quality match. Quins have built on that
first half in Toulon and the attack is purring again, Smith
mixing it up nicely and getting his runners away too. Lots of
really meaningful carries. Glasgow clearly absolutely lethal
when they get the ball in any kind of space, and their try was a
worldie. What a pass from their 12.
Makes a world of difference when our scrum is solid and our
lineout functional, on top of the improved carrying and desire
to run the ball.

Their scrum half is fantastic, like watching rugby from the 70s.
But their try was much too easy. For me Marcus is passing a bit
too early and we are kicking too much in their 22, but apart
from that a much improved performance.
