Sorry to be a pedant - and I have had my share of “Windhoeks”
tonight -, but Tom Smith was a loose head, and he was - I
believe - up against Garvey. Os du Randt was a LH up against the
Irish TH ( sorry it’s the beer). Anyway, my old fashioned
understanding was that THs tended to be shorter so they could
keep the scrum low on the opposition put in, to inconvenience
the scrum half/hooker. The LHs job to keep it higher on your own
put in for the same reason, therefore generally taller. Yareet,
is this - sort of - still valid?

that Asher - despite being shorter - is within a few kg of
someone like Finley Bealham who is 6'2 and 118kg or the
allegedly 120kg Joe wide-as-a-house Marler, he is quite
obviously not as broad as any of the international tightheads
and gives up at least 10-25kg to virtually every other
tighthead.

As a point of reference, Joe is Indeed extremely wide. Using
that as a reference, I was amazed at how comparatively small
Vincent Koch is. Stood next to him, he's around my height and
not much bigger build. Obviously I'm a fine physical specimen.
Sort of
Anyway, props are props. Lardy, grumpy, miserable blokes who
rarely run and yet somehow always end up at the front of the
food queue. Unlike svelte, charismatic and handsome backs like
myself.

Well Ox is apparently 5’8” and Malherbe 6’3” sooo not so much
😁
Tbf the ball is going to the second row’s feet anyway so there
is less opportunity to inconvenience the 9.

Hold on, in your earlier post you said George was only in as he
was captain and was behind LCD and Dan on form, yet you've
selected him to start even though he is no longer captain???

I wouldn’t start him, but as my post mentions “SB favourites” I
still think he will start him. I can’t see him being int he
bench if he’s there, and I certainly can’t see him dropped
altogether so that means LCD will realistically be cut.
