He's a long time Quins supporter, we used to meet in the Members
bar above the West Stand.
Untill he moved north of the border was debenture holder.
Knows his stuff.
And no he's not related to our friend in Kent or the jock lad
who does not like ladies playing rugby.
We both worked on the London Water Ring main and London Power
Tunnels, he's genuine allreet.

I’ve been supportive of Wilso for how far we got last season in
champs cup
However of late it would appear ( Sarries aside) we really don’t
appear to be competitive in either Premiership or challenge cup
And I’m hoping we don’t qualify for next round as to watch us be
someone’s whipping boys does no good for the supporters or the
players

Well, last season we had to go to Bordeaux (and look what
happened there !). Next game we so nearly shocked Toulouse too !
The glass is "half full" IMHO.

This response so far has given a fairly clear indication people
think Wilson should go.
Also, reading comments on BBC make things I say look tame.
My favourite was..
“quins look a bit lardy. Have they ditched fitness and nutrition
regime?”
Quins are going backwards and have sleepwalked back into Gustard
era rugby, there’s no denying that.

Sadly, I don't think we have the right players for a South
African style of game.
Also, people should be careful what they wish for. The
likelihood of a new guy coming in and turning things around
straight away is minimal; and if it takes time, how long before
people get on his case too?

There’s plenty of denying that MQ. Largely because it’s
demonstrably not true. We are bang average at the moment but we
are aren’t where we were under Gustard. We were hopeless and
boring to watch. Today we are capable of the odd big performance
and usually entertaining.

People commenting on the BBC genuinely have no idea most of the
time, mind. And usually when commenting on player size the
average rugby fan is clueless.
Can't even imagine who they'd be referring to in that instance.
Toulon had more players who look superficially fat (but are
fighting fit for their roles, which is what matters) and our
fitness clearly wasn't the problem given the second half
performance.
The weird thing is that to me yesterday's match showed a lot of
promise. We attacked far more like the old Quins, the attitude
was excellent, and we were far more willing to push the
boundaries a bit to disrupt opposition ball. We still make too
many errors and that's the biggest problem beyond the balance of
the backline, but for me we showed improvement in a key area
that we've all been complaining about in recent months.

In terms of results, it's mid-January. We have only won five
games this season in the main competitions. In the prem, three
of our four wins have been against the bottom two teams (who I
suspect are not spending up to the salary cap). We have just one
prem win against the more readily comparable sides (admittedly
our best result of the season against Sarries). In the Champions
Cup we beat a second string SA team who'd flown up to Europe.
This is classic flat-track bully performance.
In terms of performance, we are significantly less entertaining
than in the last few seasons. Those length-of-the-field wonder
tries full of offloads are a rarity this season. No sign of the
miracle comebacks at the death: quite the reverse, we have
dropped off badly in the last 20 minutes of games. The defence
looked quite a bit better at one point (the Sarries game being
the high point) but we have started to get leakier again. We
even got nilled in a game for the first time in a decade.
In terms of squad strength, we are clearly weaker than last
season. The departures of Collier, Andre and Lynagh, and now
Marler, must have freed up a stack of cash. What on earth has
that been spent on? If we are indeed spending up to the cap, we
are not exactly getting value for money. And it is now strongly
rumoured that two of our brightest academy talents who were
breaking into the starting XXIII are leaving. Our recruitment
and retention strategy does not look great at the moment.
Add all that up and you can see why there is so much discontent.
