I don't think we have played that badly. We're just short of
good players. We lost three first team starters at the end of
last season and none of their replacements have been anything
       like the same quality.

       Nice try at the end.
       T33 - H21
Should have done more with all that possession first half.

Very true, but that is still someone’s fault who has to be held
       to account.

There are very few replacements of that quality around, never
mind available. In Andre's case, he's arguably irreplaceable.

Quins with a nice first-phase try to finish the match. Didn't
deserve the bonus point because we weren't accurate enough to
nail our chances and Toulon were obviously the better side
anyway. You can see why they're unbeaten at home this season.
Glasgow will fancy their chances of taking revenge for last
       season's KO defeat.
7-21 to Quins in the second half shows we're not a million miles
away but we've been in exactly that "just not quite good enough
at crucial moments" point all season.

We played pretty well at times, but you can play well and still
make too many mistakes, or play well and still get run over by a
more powerful team. The former is the immediate concern because
it's entirely on the club to fix that and they've failed to do
       that this season.

I don’t think it has been handled terribly well but short of
signing someone like de Allende or Tuipolotu we were always
going to see a drop off after Andre left.

I'll keep banging this drum but the loss of Andre is just as
much about his defensive work and his breakdown threat as it is
his ability to get over the gainline.
I'll try not to get too excited about Waghorn's impact in
       defence today...!

A weekend of English teams ( apart from Leicester and Gloucester
so far ) getting beaten by overseas teams shows the state of
English rugby at the moment. I don’t think it is just the
coaching that is the problem, the salary cap and enticement to
the league needs to be reviewed.

I agree that salaries don't really compete with the Top 14 at
the moment, but as discussed on another thread, there's not
really any more money in English rugby at the moment.
But recruitment and coaching is still an issue. Look at Sarries
who lost a stack of Lions and have managed to still remain
competitive. I remain of the view that Mark McCall is the best
       DoR in England.
