lmao that is so jammy, Toulon get their 4th from a horrible
ricochet. Nothing you can do about that.
Sounds like Chis got binned for leading with the forearm.

Sorry, I don't get it, what have I missed that Walker is always
our chosen 2? Yes, he's a big guy in the scrum/maul I guess, but
our line-outs are dreadful (it seems irrespective of who's
calling them). Also, he gives too many pointless penalties away.
I'm not sure if Riley trains badly, but I've always thought his
on-field displays have been really good.

but that's the 3rd try after Chis gets yellowed and the game,
probably. Am I imagining it or was there a big wind for some of
the first half? We had a couple of kicks really hold up.

Yup. We've not been clinical whereas Toulon have been utterly
ruthless.
Physicality the big difference though. We're making metres but
its hard work whereas Toulon just have that extra punch. Hoping
we add some beef to the side ahead of next season.

When walker throws badly I'm reliably informed it's always the
jumpers.

Because:
- His lineout is no worse than anyone else's; our stats this
season are extremely good with him there
- He carries and tackles and cleans out a ton, very high
workrate
- Riley has had a few horror shows at lineout time and is
capable of making really poor decisions with ball in hand
Not every lost lineout is the hooker's fault; we lost at least
one where we simply got out-jumped, that's just life. Squint
throws, overthrows, underthrows? Yeah, that's the hooker's fault
(unless the overthrow is because the jumper didn't get up).
Walker has conceded one penalty today and has made 9 tackles
without missing one.
Jibulu is the real loss, though. Unlike Riley, his performances
have matched people's hopes for him.

I wish they'd all stop going on about comebacks, we are so far
off what that team were doing at the time, this could be 50 but
we need to get something on the board and quickly.

The pack is outclassed, size-wise. It's most noticeable at lock
- Launchbury is a strong boy but not very mobile, Hammond is a
featherweight - and unfortunately this is exacerbated in the
backline, where in defence we have no real big hitters. They're
all brave and some are capable of punching well above their
weight, but there's no substitute for having a massive bloke or
two out there who can stop forwards in their tracks and be a
menace at the breakdown.
Another frustrating moment to start the half, a wild slap back
by Toulon gets knocked on by Beard. Fingertip stuff that would
otherwise have likely been a try.
