Sarries are not much more competitive from the rest of the
league. I’d still expect them to get munched by the first full
strength top half French side they come across in the next
round. I hugely rate McCall as a DOR but they’re not hugely
different to Bath, Leicester etc.

I think they are better than us (our win over them
notwithstanding). But what I'm focussing on is that they
consistently seem to recruit players that I've never heard of or
have not much of a reputation and make them better. As I said,
it's a recruitment and coaching issue.

I actually thought that was a more encouraging performance this
week. Attack looked a bit more like it and that we got a bit
unlucky in defence at points. If we can find that intensity more
consistently we’ll be okay and pick up more wins than loses.
Not a fan of ref bashing, but I just can’t stand when we get
Brace is these games away in France. The French pack are allowed
to get away with murder all over the pitch and we never seem to
get the run of the green with decision. Amazingly we were the
only team who gave away an offside penalty. It’s really tough to
watch

In fairness we got away with loads of offsides and it's the AR's
job to call them usually

The English league is just not as good as the French currently.
I don’t think Wilson should be in a job considering our mediocre
league form and his non existent track record, but I wouldn’t
blame him too much for todays defeat

Yes, but all too typical that we can get ourselves up for a free
swing of the bat (away in France you're not expected to win) on
a nice day or for a big occasion. But then are flat for the
bread and butter matches in the prem or in poor weather (the
performance against Racing was dire).

Yes and no. Andre is world class but we could've picked up a 12
who carries hard and straighten the attack. They might not of
had the same all-round skill set but at least we would've had a
reliable source of go-forward ball and the ability to recycle.
Instead we've ended up having to shoe-horn Northmore in at 12.
Northmore is game and he's a quality player, but asking him to
make yards in tight traffic isn't best use of him and against
physical teams he comes up a little short.

In fairness, we had high hopes for Lennox and with Hyde &
Bradley in reserve it seemed like a reasonable gamble. It hasn't
panned out, not least because we've had a lot of midfield
injuries, but at the start of the season we had a lot of names
for that shirt.

Has Wilson told us of his learnings yet?

I agree withe the first part of your post, Jammy, but the moment
Anyanwu got injured, they started trying to put players out of
position there. Had Bradley come in then and been given a run of
games then you can say you've given it a good go, but they
didn't so shows they pinned their hopes on one man being there.
Now going to be difficult for the rest of the season but if they
want to still play as if André is there, they need to put faith
in the big guys, else tinker the game plan like the other 9
clubs do and play a different way through the 12.
