Bath don't, but Northampton have a tie with Loughborough
Lightning, who play at the Cinch stadium. The Saints annual
report references it repeatedly as a partnership, but doesn't
break out the finances.

Drive to Survive was a Liberty Media initiative.
CVC have not had any involvement in F1 since 2017.

Fair enough. I don't really follow F1 these days; the principle
of promoting personalities to grow the audience is still valid,
though.

Drive to Survive was 100% about getting in to the US market and
it has been incredibly successful at that.

The most eye opening thing he said was that overnight the last
budget added 250k to staff costs! scale that up league wise 2m+
extra costs ouch, good luck with long term planning with those
sort of surprises

Which confirm my own thoughts on the matter - that there ain't
no easy answers on this subject.
I suspect that we will continue in a similar vein for the
forseeable.

Yes, some players would go elsewhere, but there are only so many
spots available in France and Japan.

I don’t think that is a good short term answer. For one thing,
France has two fully professional divisions - that’s around
1,200 pro players, so they have capacity to recruit a bigger
slug of English players than they do now, even with the JIFF
rules.
More importantly, player’s wages are only a small part of the
overall budget. The salary cap is less than 25% of Quins’ cost
base - and the players are what, ultimately, bring in the
revenue. Hacking off the people who bring in the crowds is not
good business sense.
What might make sense, over time, would be to link the salary
cap to revenues, so that it doesn’t rise faster than overall
revenues for the league.

We have such a huge player pool, does it matter if we lose
players to France or anywhere else?
