How are you using “fitness” here?
Being fully pro won’t deliver strength equal to the men, but
that’s not what I was talking about. As you say, expecting that
to happen would be delusional - but then why would anyone choose
to use something physically unattainable as a criterion of
quality?
Being fully pro will deliver the fitness to have teams where all
the players can maintain their pace and skills for 80 minutes.
Compare the fitness of men’s players now to the fitness of their
“amateur”counterparts in the 90s and there’s a world of
difference; women’s rugby is only starting to go through that
transition.

I go and watch the women play when I have the chance to. I have
been to all of the women's games at the Stoop this season.
But, I don't like the idea of "double headers". I find it hard
work to watch two games one after the other (no matter who is
playing). I used to dislike the old London Double Headers and
used to only show up for the Quins match.
So, I went and had a few pints in the fan village and entered
the bowl at around 5:40.
I was following the score on twitter. I may have gone in to
watch the second half if the scoreline was a bit closer

Having reviewed all the posts so far we should all look ahead to
the Womens world cup next year as a measure of how far this has
progressed in the rugby world.

With regard to the world cup - does anyone know if tickets for
Twickenham games are going to go on general sale? I was
unsuccessful in the ticket ballot as it was oversubscribed

An indication of how quickly the women's game has grown - the
last time the World Cup was held in England, the games were
played at Surrey Sports Park, with only the semis and final at
The Stoop.
A decade later, and the games will be played at some of the
largest stadia in the country, and they will sell out.
Just hope that this will have a similar affect on playing
numbers as the Euros did for the Lionessess (we're gonna assume
that it's fairly likely England will be in the final).
