Forward passes and handling errors were definitely two major
failings last night but we also lacked physicality and urgency
which suggests that the attitude was way off.
There were several examples, but the one that sticks out in my
mind was when Lennox got caught in the back field. Gloucester
had multiple players busting a gut to get there - our players
were ambling back. The contrast was painful to see.

Hopefully this was / is rock bottom and the group get together
with the coaches and do something about the way we are
approaching things. They’ll be aware it’s currently bad.
As I recall, the last time that happened, good things followed.

Well that was pathetic.
Think the coaching setup needs changing to get the most out of
this squad. Gilmore seems to have made a tangible difference to
our defence so hesitant to include him.
Perhaps we need to be more realistic about the quality of
players in the squad?
Feeling rather flat, sorry...

I disagree on the quality piece.
The issues are confined to specific areas not an overall lack of
quality.
Collier, Esterhuizen and now Marler are huge losses who were
either critical in providing the set piece platform or front
foot ball we need to execute the brand of rugby we’re trying to
play. Without a strong scrum or someone to break the
gainline/keep defences narrow, we’re struggling.
I’d still take our squad over most in the league though.

Coaching wise, I don’t think Wilson has what’s needed to kick us
on. We saw footage of him giving everyone a rollocking, yet it
made no difference after half time. Compare that to how Saints
responded after their half time break. I just think we have
delusions of grandeur in terms of lifting off of 2021, and still
trying to play that way without the key players to make that
type of rugby possible.
Recruitment has been very poor compared to our rivals for top 4
in terms of replacing those key players who have left.

Thing is, Wilson wasn't brought in as head coach I don't think.
Millard has disappeared and given the keys to Wilson despite his
mediocre track record

I am seriously thinking of not going to the "Big Game" and going
down the road to watch Lon Scottish v Chinnor instead !

This. We look underpowered in the loose and strike move
first-phase tries have virtually disappeared. We've lost scrum
dominance.

A stat from The Times this morning: “No team has a lower
conversion rate than them in the league this year; they score
from 47 per cent of their entries into the 22, a worse record
than Newcastle Falcons. Their seven entries into the 22 last
night yielded nothing.”
Going from being the best attacking team in Europe in 2020/21 to
the worst in the league. Simply unacceptable.
