Prior to this rumour there was talk of Borthwick wanting to use
one of the central contracts as a hook. Not sure how that works
TBH, but presumably reduces the financial burden on whichever
Premiership team takes him on.
With Herbst confirmed to be leaving, Lamb rumoured to be going
and most of our remaining locks either at the end of their
careers (Launch and Lewies) or very young and untested
(Green/Browne), our interest in him would make a lot of sense.

Would be a very good signing for an area we are going to
struggle with over the next few years with rumoured departures
and general age.
I can see Bath or Sarries sniffing around just because it’s them

Are you sure that Ernie is confirmed? I don't think I saw the
announcement.
Also - regarding "Lamb rumoured to be going". The rumour was
that one of the French teams were looking for a medical joker.
So, if this were to happen, then it would probably only be a
temporary move.

Really??!! The Daily Mail and the truth are very uneasy
bedfellows!

Usually, yes. Rugby is an area (IMO before another threat
derails with the usual back and forth nonsense) where their
journalists have a decent track record.

Fair enough, I avoid it so wasn't aware of that

Nik Simon is normally pretty reliable.

Where has Irne been confirmed?
Lamb was supposed to be going "immediately". Seems someone
forgot to tell him.

Kpoko says he plans to come back but gives varying time lines,
essentially when he feels he can benefit from a new challenge to
further improve, the article just says Quins have put themselves
in prime position. No doubt we have spoken with him/his advisors
and we will be given notice when he is moving to (possibly) have
the first approach.
