After the disappointment of last week’s defeat, when we were
leading, we quickly turned our attention to hosting Harlequins
in the Champions Cup.
The Investec Champions Cup is an important goal for all of us,
the players and the club. We came close to winning the
competition in 2018 and 2021. We are looking forward to it.
Last week our poor start to the match cost us dearly, we are
determined not to repeat the same mistake this weekend.
We have made a few changes; Janick Tarrit has been back in the
starting line-up for some time. Camille Chat is determined to
bring all his qualities to the team off the bench. Jordan Joseph
had a very good start against Toulouse last week and deserves to
start this week.
Our three-quarters Vinaya Habosi, Wame Naituvi and Josua Tuisova
are starting side by side for the first time, we are looking
forward to seeing them in action. Gaël will be captain again
this weekend, accompanied by Ibrahim Diallo and Cameron Woki who
continue their development as leaders. Alongside Nolann Le
Garrec and Antoine Gibert , our game leaders, they will be a
valuable help to Gaël.
We were hit by a bit of a flu outbreak this week so Will
Rowlands and Thomas Laclayat had to pull out, but as always that
created opportunities for other players like Lee-Marvin Mazibuko
who waited patiently for his chance.

Up now:
Harlequins have named their matchday 23 to open their Investec
Champions Cup campaign against Racing 92 in Paris on Saturday
(20:00 GMT, live on Premier Sports).
International stars Marcus Smith and Chandler Cunningham-South
return to the starting XV for Quins' trip to the French capital,
while Dino Lamb is set earn his 100th appearance in the famous
Quarters.
Wyn Jones and Simon Kerrod will start at loose and tighthead
respectively, while Jack Walker will line up at hooker. Dino
Lamb starts in Paris to earn his 100th appearance for the Club
he joined as an 18-year-old. The Italian international will pack
down alongside the recently re-signed Stephan Lewies, who
returns to the second row.
Chandler Cunningham-South starts at blindside after a week of
mandatory rest following his international exploits with
England. Jack Kenningham swaps to openside flanker, while Alex
Dombrandt skippers the side from number eight.
Will Porter partners Marcus Smith in the half-backs, who also
returns to the starting XV after a week-long rest period
post-Autumn Nations Series.
Lennox Anyanwu comes into the side at inside centre to partner
Luke Northmore at outside centre. Harlequins' back three for the
trip to Paris is comprised of Nick David, Cadan Murley and the
experienced Leigh Halfpenny.
Sam Riley, Jordan Els and Titi Lamositele are Danny Wilson's
front row impact options, while James Chisholm and Will Evans
complete Quins' compliment of forwards in the matchday squad.
Danny Care, Jarrod Evans and Oscar Beard have also been named as
impact players for Saturday's fixture in Southern Paris.

Interesting that there are no second row options on the bench. I
seem to remember Dommers covering lock at the start of his
career, so will presumably fill in there if needed, with CCS or
Chis at no.8?
